Helpful Hands

I have been trying to add chores to my daughter's repertoire.  She is currently in charge of putting the dogs in their closet when we leave, getting them out when we return, and feeding them.  Recently I taught her how to put the silverware away from the dishwasher (she asks, "Is this a BIG fork?  Is this a LITTLE spoon?") and most of the time she does it perfectly.  She also will help load the dishwasher, and she knows how to put the detergent in, close it, and start it (well, almost).  Her new responsibilities will be to pick up and put away her toys, and help fold laundry (she already helps put it in the dryer and laundry basket).  This afternoon we were playing in her kitchen (she was the chef) and she asked for me to pick something up off the floor.  I put it on the table, and she said, "Thank you for the WONDERFUL HELP!"
I suppose that is how every task should be rewarded, because it is WONDERFUL to see her help.
