Lemon-Almond Mother's Day Cake

I found this recipe in a magazine our Realtor sends us.  It is from the book Plum Gorgeous by Romney Steele.  It looked and sounded so delicious, and knowing that my Mom would be here for Mother's Day (and that she LOVES lemon-flavored desserts), I decided to whip one together.
There are a couple of things that I didn't expect: first, the batter is VERY dense.  It is more like a bread than a cake batter.  Secondly, it browned very dark in my oven.  It may be because I used a silicone bundt pan.
I made a lemon glaze (lemon juice and powdered sugar), and dusted the cake with powedered sugar to give it a pretty look once done.
Doesn't it look so yummy???
