and decided to give it a whirl. I didn't realize our green fabrics were so similar until I looked at it again after I had finished- I just saw this one and LOVED it. I also wanted to dress it up a little bit, so I did the fabric rosettes (Yes, I MADE THOSE MYSELF- WOOHOO!) and I am not a fan of burlap/jute, so I did satin ribbon. I didn't have a butterfly punch, so I had to cut them all by hand. And my husband wasn't too happy with my absconding with about 100 paint chips from Lowe's. His reasoning: "Some day I will need to get one of those, and they will have to start charging for them because of people like you." Ha. Well, I like my wreath anyway. It is hanging in the baby's nursery, and looks gorgeous underneath my Goodwill-found bookshelf. Photos of that later.

Paint Chip Butterfly Wreath
I am not the craftiest person. I attempted scrapbooking (that ended after about 10 minutes with me wielding a glue-stick and slapping photos on pages), pottery painting (a test of my patience, especially knowing that my 'artwork' may be in a thousand pieces at any moment), embroidery (which I did as a child when I was sick in bed...and that's where I left it- sick in bed), acrylic painting (dabbled in college when I needed an outlet from endless research papers and biology labs) and wreath-making. It turns out that the latter is actually a bit of a talent for me. I can whip out a gorgeous semi-professional-looking wreath in about 20 minutes. I really enjoy it. However, my typical wreath consists of a grapevine form with artificial flowers and greenery. I saw this example : http://www.sisterssuitcaseblog.com/2012/03/butterfly-paint-chip-wreath.html
